Editor's review
This SDK integrates functions related to PCL data streams.
PCLTool SDK Option V 32-bit converts complex PCL into PDF, PDF/A, or any of our supported formats while extracting text. PCLTool SDK offers three PCLXForm batch transformation options. Prices of these options vary as their functionalities differ. You would choose the one most suitable to your application development needs. PCLTool SDK Option V is the most extensive product. It provides full access to all of TPT (Transformation Parameter Table) scripting functions and conversion into the supported formats. This option offers functions that extract text for bursting documents, derives the individual output PDF file naming convention, index key extraction and other advanced transformation functions. "Rapid Batch Index" files can be created for import into virtually any third-party document imaging system. It lets you stream edit PCL for enhancements like adding OMR marks/barcodes, count document pages for splitting or sorting into separate folders, adding logos, form overlays, signatures, etc. It will also help edit the PCL stream for migration to a different printer than what the stream was meant for. Colorizing PCL text, address correction, mail run optimization is some other functions available.
PCLTool SDK Option IV (PCL to Non PDF + ASCII text) is a script-driven console program. It lets you use command line overrides. A straight, pass-through conversion of PCL into TIF, JPG, PNG, BMP, EMF, WMF, PMF, and other formats (except PDF) with optional ASCII text extraction during the conversion can be implemented. PCLXForm scripting functionality is not fully implemented. PCLTool SDK Option III offers a straight, pass-through conversion of PCL into PDF raster or vector format. It does not have the PCLXForm scripting functionality. This is a very good product.
